Ionozon® Bath

The Ionozon® utilizes ionized, nebulized water vapor in combination with ozonized oxygen (O3) or gaseous carbonic acid (CO2).

Spraying in aerolizable active agents offers additional possibilities for a range of balneological indications:

• Ionized water vapor

• Water vapor enriched with herbal extracts

The effects

The therapeutic effect of the nebulized oxygen - ozone bath is based on pure oxidation as well as on concentration of molecular oxygen in the nascent state in the tissue. As a result of the sterile condensate forming on the skin, active oxygen and oxygen diffuse deep into the tissue. In the venous blood, an increase of up to 25% is observed. The blood is de-acidified and the pH value normalized.

The stimulating effect of the active oxygen on the epidermis is mainly of a vaso-active nature. Active oxygen as trivalent unstable oxygen compound emits upon disintegration a finely dosed ultraviolet radiation which also penetrates into the deep layers of the skin.

The disinfecting effect of O3 provides particularly favorable hygienic conditions.

The Ionozon® Bath in Beauty and Wellness field

Beauty Spas and health clinics use the oxygen and carbonic acid treatments for all kinds of indications linked to exhaustion, overstrain and convalescence. Special programs as ?Relaxing?, ?Recovering? and ?Vital? have been developed for the use of the unit in these fields. Additionally the bath is an essential part of effective slimming treatments with the Nemectron electrotherapy and ultrasound machines.

An auxiliary attachment enables aerolizable active agents to be sprayed in during the use of the bath. Herbal extracts such as camomile, sage, lemongrass or mint support and intensify the effects of the oxygen treatment.

Treatment in dermatology using O2 and O3 Based on the fact that oxygen and oxygen/ozon produce an intense stimulating and astringent effect on the metabolism of the tissue, this type of physical energy has been introduced in dermatology and is used successfully to treat:

• Cruric ulcers
• Psoriasis
• Decubitus ulcers
• Poor nutrition of the skin

The oxygen treatment is also indicated in degeneration processes such as rheumatic diseases or obesity as experiences shows that all intervertebral disc syndromes require a therapy which activates the metabolism. Also circulatory diseases can successfully be treated by using CO2. Carbonic acid enables obtaining a subjective sensation of heart with a tonic effect on the periphery. CO2 lowers the resistance of the peripheral blood flow, which in turn decreases the pulse rate. The pure carbonic acid activates the circulation, relaxes, soothes and is thus indicative for coronary diseases, such as:

• Arterial occlusive disease
• Chronic venous insufficiency
• Angina pectoris
• Hypertonia
• Treatment after cardiac infarct

Some technical information

During the treatment the patient is comfortably seated in the Ionozon® Bath. A support for the neck and a footrest ensure a perfectly relaxed seating position, where the seat can be adjusted to match the height of the patient.

The inside temperature of the unit with its insulated outer walls, can be controlled with two heating systems up to approximately 65°C or 156°F. The supply of O2 is adjustable from 0-6 liters per minute and from 0?9 liters per minute for CO2.
